Bribery Act Training Online

All staff have a responsibility to ensure that their conduct nor the conduct of any person or organisation entering into any contract or arrangement with the University contravenes the Bribery Act 2010. Staff must not use their authority or office for personal gain and must always seek to uphold the reputation and good standing of the University.
This short online course guides you through the scope of the Act and highlights some of the situations that you should be aware of.
The course is aimed at all members of staff especially
- Heads of Department; and
- those involved at any level in procurement; or
- in seeking donations or research funding; or
- those involved in international activities.
In this instance "staff" refers to all individuals working within the University at all levels and grades, including officers, employees (whether permanent, fixed term or temporary), workers, trainees, seconded staff, agency staff, volunteers, interns or any other person working in any context within the institution
- To provide a broad overview of the implications of the Act.
- To understand the offences set out in the Act, as well as possible defences.
- To understand what the University is doing to comply with the Act's requirements.
- To understand the way you need to work and the standards that you should adhere to in order to prevent potential acts of bribery.
- To be aware of further relevant sources of information.
