Description:
As a manager, it is your responsibility to get the best out of your staff so that your team functions at its full potential. This can be a daunting challenge: some individuals are easier to manage than others! This course will pinpoint the skills you need to understand and manage staff performance and focus on the University policies which must underpin your approach. Presentation, DVD and group discussion will be used to highlight key points and activities will give you an opportunity to practise in a safe and supportive environment.

  • to understand your responsibilities in performance management
  • to know how and why to set goals and standards
  • to know how to use delegation and coaching to motivate and develop individuals
  • to be able to give feedback constructively
  • to have an overview of relevant University policies on induction, probation and staff review and development
