Description:
A team that works well is an exciting and creative place to be. This course will enable you to identify the important ingredients for a successful team and to reflect on your own team management skills. It will also look at different team-working styles and examine the need to balance the requirements of the task, the team and the individual.
Target audience: University staff

Aims:
- to be able to identify the qualities of an effective team
- to be able to set objectives for your team
- to understand the stages of team development and how this can help you anticipate issues
- to be able to motivate, monitor progress and give feedback more effectively to team members
- to know when and how to involve your team in decision making
- to be able to pinpoint your preferred team roles and appreciate differences between team members
