Description: Workshops to revise and improve some aspects of English grammar.

  • Non-Native PhD and PostDocs from the Department of Engineering

Format: Class work and individual study

Prerequisites:

  • Participants must be Non-native speakers

Aims:

  • To revise some common areas of grammatical difficulty
  • To improve awareness and understanding of some advanced grammatical structures which are of particular use in academic writing

Topics covered:

  • Use of the definite, indefinite and zero articles
  • Relative clauses; punctuation; linking words; inversion;
