Tue 27 May 2014

Description

The Graduate Student and Postdoc Forum (GRASP) would like to invite you to an evening discussion about the changing publishing culture in science.

Ms. Jennifer McLennan, head of Marketing and Communications at eLife, will be speaking about the ways in which eLife is trying to revolutionise the publishing process. eLife Sciences (http://elifesciences.org) is a not-for-profit open-access journal for the life sciences and biomedicine funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Wellcome Trust, and Max Planck Society.

This will be followed by commentary from Professor Steve Russell and Professor Alfonso Martinez-Aria, from the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge, who will discuss changes that are needed in the publishing process.

The discussion will be followed by Q&A and a drinks reception.
