MoTI - Management of Technology and Innovation Event Updated
This two day event is organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at the Judge Business School. It intended to cover general principles of the management of technology and innovation from the MoTI programme. It will also provide a platform for interactive discussions among the doctoral candidates about the translational issues arising out of their research and therefore better understand how to achieve impact from their research.
Participants will learn about the general principles of the management of technology and innovation as follows.
The key drivers for innovation in society and in industry
- Regulations and standards in life sciences
- Value addition and value appropriation form intellectual property
- Strategies for the management of innovation
- Market pull versus technology push in innovation
- Organising for the management of innovation
- The financing of incremental innovation
Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice some of the skills that have been mapped out in The Researcher Development Statement.
- Short presentations on the impact of their projects
- Practice at networking across multidisciplinary groups
- Develop a basic business know how
- Develop an understanding of market needs and learn skills for creative problem solving
- Respond to opportunities that will rise from the collaboration of research
- To be inspired to think about future career – Is entrepreneurship for me?
