Leadership Masterclass: Learning about Leadership with Philippa Drew CB New
The speaker for the first Masterclass in this Academic Year will be Philippa Drew CB (biography available)
The target audience for the Masterclass series is those who are undertaking (or have previously undertaken) a leadership or management development programme within the University – the sessions aim to complement our learning about leadership. The speakers are people with senior leadership experience outside the University.
The purpose of the Masterclasses is for leaders and managers in the University to learn about different aspects of leadership from the varying experiences of our speakers and to hear how different people see their role as a leader in a variety of different and often challenging situations.
- University staff who have attended leadership and management programmes
- Those with responsibility for other staff
- Participation is by invite only
- If places remain available closer to the date of the event these will be offered on a first come first served basis to other members of staff of the University who have expressed an interest

- Does leadership have some unchanging characteristics?
- Are leaders born or can they be made?
- Are women leaders different from men as leaders?
- Do technological change, globalisation, point to the need for new leadership styles?
- Registration will be from 11.00, with the Masterclass being held between 11.15 – 12.15
- Tea will be available immediately after the Masterclass, to give an opportunity for informal discussion with Philippa
