TechLink Industry Brief: The Flash Revolution
PrerequisitesNewSpecial

Wed 8 Apr 2015

Description

Just a few years ago the idea of using flash instead of a spinning disk arrays seemed like a great idea but commercially impossible — however, today it's very much a reality. Over the last 5 years Pure Storage has been leading the move from disk to flash, with the market starting to tip very quickly over the last 12 months.

The benefits of flash are clear to see around performance / low latency and significantly reduced space and power requirements. However, to make a product viable to replace disk arrays there is a great deal more to consider around availability, ease of deployment and use, functionality and cost.

Gartner published their first Magic Quadrant on the All Flash Arrays last year (http://purefla.sh/1lArzhH) and they placed Pure storage firmly in the leaders quadrant. Come along and hear why this is.
