English: Writing Skills (School of Technology)
This is a two week course focusing on your OWN DRAFTS for theses, dissertations, first-year projects or research papers. Please note that you will be required to attend 5 WHOLE CLASS two-hour sessions in Week 1 and one WHOLE CLASS two-hour session in week 2 (Thursday afternoon). In addition to this you will be required to attend TWO INDIVIDUAL SUPERVISIONS times to be arranged with the teacher (1 x 30 minutes in Week 1 plus 1 x 1 hour in Week 2).
WEEK 2 TIMETABLE - Individual supervisions will last for one hour per person between the following times (to be organised with Sheila Dodds smd48);
- Monday 16 July 1400-1800
- Tuesday 17 July 1400-1800
- Wednesday 18 July 1400-1800
- Friday 20 July 11.30-13.30
1st Year PhD students in the following areas:
- Engineering
- Chemical Engineering and biotechnology
- Computer Laboratory
- Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership
- Judge Business School
- Further details regarding Engineering Language Unit's eligibility criteria are available
- Participants should be a 1st year PhD student although students at a later stage in their Doctoral studies are also welcome
