Black Advisory Hub: Launch
New

Fri 14 May 2021

Description

Black Advisory Hub Launch

The online launch of Cambridge’s new Black Advisory Hub will be hosted by a team of student co-creators who were involved in its development and creation. The programme will include Vice Chancellor Professor Stephen Toope responding to students in a Q&A session, as well as a range of other interactive events to showcase the development of this online ‘space’ to support new and current Black students, and to introduce ideas for future initiatives that will help make Cambridge a more inclusive and supportive environment.

While the launch’s primary audience is anticipated to be Black students, we also welcome any other students or staff from across the collegiate University who wish to support and celebrate their accomplishments and educational experiences at Cambridge.

· Student co-creators: Tamara Achampong, Helena Boateng, Fabianna Dennis, Hetty Opayinka, Rianna Davis

· Staff co-creators: Eireann Attridge and David Izuogu

· Invited student speakers: Mayowa Olubowale and Tyra Amofah-Akardom

· Invited staff speaker: Professor Stephen Toope, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge

· Supported by the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning, the Vice Chancellor and the Alexander Crummell Fund.

Please note that this event will be recorded. All attendees will have the option to participate via the chat function, Q&A and through other functions (e.g. polls). By signing up to the Launch event, you are agreeing to show mutual respect to attendees and presenters. The Black Advisory Hub has been designed, funded, and launched to support Black students and the structure of the event aims to reflect this intention.
