Description

This course provides a brief introduction to laser safety management for those with supervisory responsibilities for laser laboratories, with a modern approach to laser safety.

Target audience

Research supervisors and others with responsibilities for supervising laser work

Objectives
  • To provide a brief introduction to laser safety management for those with supervisory responsibilities for laser laboratories, with a modern approach to laser safety
  • To give supervisors an understanding of their responsibilities and their role in supporting the Departmental Laser Safety Officer
  • Discussion of some laser incidents and accidents, using lessons learned to improve laser safety standards in the University

Notes

Research supervisors should also attend the course for laser users if they have not attended a laser safety course for some time.
