Academic Staff Welcome Event
Description
Newly appointed academic staff are invited to attend a Welcome Event hosted by the University Pro-Vice-Chancellor for University Community and Engagement.
Speakers include Professor Kamal Munir, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for University Community and Engagement and Doctor Peter Hedges, Head of the University Research Office. The programme will provide important perspectives and information to support career success. Presentations will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions and engage in small group discussion with members of the University’s leadership team.
Target audience
- Newly appointed academic staff (Professor, University Associate Professor and University Assistant Professor) who have joined the University between October 2023 – October 2024)

- To welcome newly appointed academic members of staff
- To identify key characteristics of the University's culture, values and working environment
- To provide an overview of the University’s strategic directions
- To provide an opportunity for small group discussion and networking
