This course is for University staff only. Students are not eligible to attend and any student bookings will be cancelled.

Consultants use expertise gained from University research in order to provide services to external organisations. Any University researcher can undertake consultancy work, but it can be challenging to manage and administrate alongside University teaching and research commitments.

Cambridge Enterprise is delighted to offer this free workshop to University Staff in how to consult effectively which will share expertise on best practice, give tips on making life easier and trouble-shoot some of the key issues faced by consultants.

This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills, providing a refresher for academics already acting as consultants or an introduction for those considering consultancy in the near future.

• to share experience with colleagues and academics practiced in consultancy
• to identify issues surrounding confidentiality, intellectual property and liability
• to understand how Cambridge Enterprise can help you undertake consultancy more effectively

• Cambridge Enterprise was set up by the University to help students and staff commercialise their ideas and to aid the transfer of knowledge into the wider community
• Members of the Cambridge Enterprise consultancy team will cover how they can help to provide support throughout the process and explain the benefits of using their services
• This workshop for University Staff is suitable for all levels of experience, whether you are already acting as a consultant or are considering doing so
