Professional Services Development Programme Level 1 (Grades 3 - 6) PrerequisitesNew
This programme aims to support participants’ career progression within the University, as well as providing key skills to support further development in the Higher Education Sector. It draws on the expertise of senior colleagues in the University at focussed development workshops where participants will be able to input and take part in discussions.
No previous qualifications are required to take part in this programme. For some this programme will act as a feeder programme for the existing Administrator Development Programme.
- University staff in a Professional Services role, grades 3 to 6

This programme requires:
- attendance at all six sessions
- line manager support - participants must ensure they have approval prior to making a provisional booking
- preparation - ability to complete approximately 2 hours of additional work outside of the programme per session
- a Career Development Conversation between the participant and their line manager between sessions 1 and 2

- provide the opportunity to develop a clear and realistic plan of how to achieve your career aspirations
Workshops, presentations, discussions
- You will be required to complete a self evaluation before, on completion of, and 6 months after completion of the programme.
- Please note that this programme is being piloted, with the intention of a full launch for the 2025/26 academic year. If you are unable to secure a place this time, please register your interest to find out about future sessions.
