Equality and Diversity Essentials
A bespoke training workshop for staff and colleagues. The aim is to provide a basic background in equalities law and good practice in relation to equality and diversity in the workplace. This workshop provides an introduction to what equality and diversity means individually, personally or professionally. It provides knowledge on basic principles and concepts, relevant legislation and the University's policies and procedures.
After completing the workshop you will be able to understand the principles behind equality and diversity legislation, including the new Equality Act 2010, and the implications of breaching it. The workshop will also consider a range of ways in which individuals can help break down barriers to equality and provide useful information about what to do if you feel you are being discriminated against or treated unfairly at the University.
