Partners in Philanthropy is a workshop for all development support staff, that provides a greater understanding of the concepts that make up the development process. Participants discover key elements of identifying their role in development, understanding donor motivations, and exploring how to better support the development process. The workshop also provides an understanding of development vocabulary and creates the foundation necessary to support a cohesive culture of philanthropy throughout the organisation.

The workshop will cover:

  • Introduction: A brief overview of the workshop, including the research and concepts that serve as its foundation, as well as the process of donor development and the roles of different team members.
  • Understanding Donor Motivation: Participants gain understanding of the development process from the perspectives of donors.

Enhancing Manager Conversations, hosted by Tiny Pause, aims to help you create an open culture where staff feel able to talk about mental health, by equipping you with the skills and tools to sensitively and confidently start those conversations. A recent MIND survey found that only two in five employees felt that their manager would be able to spot the signs they were struggling with poor mental health.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Understand how to implement simple team routines to strengthen team psychological safety - vital for team performance and adjustments to workload
  • Identify when a team members mental health is worsening and be able to address this effectively with the individual - increase confidence
  • Follow a simple proven structure to help you have the initial and follow up conversations and active listening technique 1 on 1 role play
  • Learn the difference between being a caring colleague and a manager's legal responsibility when dealing with a stressed member of the team
  • Learn the importance of managers and leaders protecting time each day for psychological recovery - manage difficult thoughts and recharge focus
