Environmental Sustainability Induction Module 2025 Self-taught Booking not required

Please click this link to watch a video from the Environmental Sustainability Team on operational Environmental Sustainability.

This video on Moodle is an interim measure while we develop an updated Environmental Sustainability induction.

This training provides staff with the knowledge and practical tools to identify environmental risks associated with their institution’s activities, products, and services.

It introduces a consistent and transparent approach to environmental risk assessment, enabling teams to understand the environmental impacts they can control or influence, and focus efforts on the most significant risks.

Participants will learn how to apply the University’s environmental risk assessment procedure, how to recognise new or emerging risks arising from changes in activities, services, or infrastructure and how to manage the significant environmental risks and their impacts.

The training describes the reasons for this system and its four waste streams: food waste; paper and card; all other dry recyclable materials; and residual (non-recyclable) waste. We will also highlight problem items and end with a short quiz.
