Mindfulness and Creativity
New

Wed 3 Jul 2019

Description

Artist Jo Miller will lead a mindfulness meditation in the restful and inspiring spaces of Kettle’s Yard, which will lead into creative drawing activities. No art or mindfulness experience required.

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally”. Jon Kabat-Zinn.

“Kettle’s Yard is … a continuing way of life […] in which stray objects, stones, glass, pictures, sculpture, in light and in space, have been used to make manifest the underlying stability which more and more we need” Jim Ede, founder of Kettle’s Yard.

Mindfulness meditation is not only useful as a stress-reduction tool; it can also go hand in hand with creativity.

Take part in a creativity and mindfulness session in the restful and inspiring spaces of Kettle’s Yard. Artist Jo Miller will lead a mindfulness meditation in the Kettle’s Yard house which will lead into a time of creative drawing in our learning studio.
