International Women’s Day Lecture: Gender and Climate Change new Finished 12:30 - 13:30 8 Mill Lane, Lecture Room 2

Dr Emily Shuckburgh OBE is the Director of Cambridge Zero. She is also Reader in Environmental Data Science in the Department of Computer Science and Technology.

Dr Shuckburgh will share the extent of her work on climate change and communicating this to the public, and will discuss how gender plays a part in the bigger environmental picture.

Delivered in a safe and supportive environment, this session offers individuals the opportunity to learn about the different factors that might create and perpetuate a work environment in which harassment and bullying occur, and strategies for how to address this.

This interactive webinar will look at different definitions of self-mentoring and how to use it in your personal and professional life to help you achieve your potential. It will also include some self-reflection and an exploration of the four steps of self-mentoring. In addition, Amanda will share some personal experiences and tips for self-mentoring linked to the songs of David Bowie!

Hosted by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Institutional and International Relations, Professor Eilis Ferran, this session will provide an overview of the University's Academic Career Pathways (ACP) procedure, highlight the main changes to the process, provide an overview of the ACP CV Scheme and address some of the common misconceptions surrounding promotions.

We particularly encourage women and staff identifying as Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) to attend as they are currently under-represented at senior academic levels.

Neurodiversity includes the specific learning differences -dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Autism.

In this talk Professor Sara Rankin explores the strengths and weaknesses associated with being neurodiverse and how this plays out in the Universities and businesses for students, researchers, managers, postgraduate students and administrators.

She will talk about some of the educational and outreach projects she is currently working on for ND students, at Imperial College London. She will also outline the steps that line managers can take to support their ND staff and give an overview of some of the assistive technologies that can help.

Sara Rankin is a Professor in NHLI, FoM working in the field of Regenerative Pharmacology. She is dyslexic and dyspraxic.

BAME Staff Network Meeting new Finished 10:00 - 11:30

This virtual event will be an opportunity to meet the new Chairs of the BAME Staff Network Professor Franklin Aigbirhio and Dr Rabia Dada-Oughton.

It will also serve as a space to discuss the aims, purpose, and structure of the Network, as well as key priorities and initiatives the Network should take forward.

We are hosting a facilitated conversation to reflect on the outcomes of the discussion at the UUK's webinar "Turning words into action: Eliminating Racism and racial inequality in Higher Education, and on any learning we can take on board at the University of Cambridge.

The UUK webinar is taking place on July 14th at 2:30pm - 3:30pm. Tyra was also involved in the Black British Students' stream of the Access and Participation Plan: Participatory Action Research project, where she and her team proposed the idea of having a Black Student Advisory Hub.
