Description

This course covers the day to day and month end transactions that need to be completed using a variety of tools in CUFS.

Target audience

Departmental Grant Administrator staff involved with clearing the suspense account, and moving other expenditure via journals or the accounts payable module.

Prerequisites

In order to get your booking approved, please ensure that the online course Grants Part 1: Getting Started in Research Grants has been completed, link below:

We will check your training history for completions, so there is no reason to let us know if you’ve already passed.

Once we confirm that Grants 1 has been completed, you will be set up to use our CUFS Play environment. This is required as this course is hands on and you will need to practice entering Grants journals and transferring expenses between grants using the Transfer Tool.

After you’ve been given access to Play, you will receive a further email, confirming that your status is “booked” rather than “provisional”, and giving your username, password and a link to enrol on the Grants 4 online course.

Objectives
  • Review the department’s suspense account and clear any transactions
  • Process grant journals and AP grant amendments
  • Discuss the impact of time sheets and how to process them
  • Establish where to look and how to correct funds check failures

To process day to day and month end transactions correctly within the Grants module

Format

Online course with a scored quiz at the end.

The course is available on the University's Moodle network, you will be prompted for your RAVEN password. The course can be accessed from the following recommended devices:
