This session aims to provide participants with an up to date overview of the current types of unpaid placements that the Cambridge University Libraries offers, an overview of the related policies, and the process that ULHR has implemented to support line managers in bringing people into the Library in an unpaid capacity, under the right agreement, using the correct terminology.

By the end of the session participants will :
Understand the University and CUL policy for unpaid placements
Know the processes in place to ensure the fair and transparent application of the policy
Recognise what CUL can not offer in terms of unpaid placements and why
Have received a handout summarising the process from request to decision
To outline the University policy for unpaid work placements, including volunteers, visitors and work experience.
