Communicating your research via the media can be an effective way of reaching a wide audience. This workshop will help you understand what makes a news story and what to expect when engaging with the media. It will provide tips to help you tell your story most effectively and ensure your research is reported accurately, as well as explaining how the University can support you.

To improve your understanding of the media landscape and how the media operate. To improve your understanding of how to communicate your research to the public via the media. To increase your confidence in dealing with the media to ensure your research is reported accurately.
We would recommend looking at a range of media outlets - from the BBC to The Times to the Daily Mail - to see what types of story they cover and the different approaches media outlets take to covering the same story.
