Description

This workshop, led by Understanding Animal Research, provides advice and practical information on how best to talk about the use of animals in your research in line with the Concordat on Openness on Animal Research.

This course will be held in L2, The Gurdon Institute http://www.gurdon.cam.ac.uk/about/travel

Target audience

GSLS PhD students and post-docs

Aims
  • Give researchers the confidence to talk to a scientifically interested public about their research
  • Give researchers an understanding of the public’s opinion of research using animals
  • Discuss how best to deal with difficult questions from the public, the media and campaigners
Format

Participative workshop; combining talks and practical group activities as preparation for face-to-face or media communication
