The workshops are designed to enhance students' language competence and ability to carry out research in the specific context of a German speaking country archive and/or library. Different types of archives and their discrete functions will be explored as well as methods of information gathering. A particular focus will be placed on the difficulties that may be encountered when examining a variety of German scripts from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century.
