English Focus on Writing 3 - Session 2 (Nonnative Postdoc, PhD and MPhil by Research Engineering ONLY)

Writing Stage- Structural Issues, Paragraph Organisation and Cohesion. We examine techniques for structuring and developing paragraphs and you will have an opportunity to refine your own paragraphs and obtain feedback from peers. We will draw widely on examples taken from research papers.

• Non-Native PostDocs, PhD and Mphil by Research students from the Department of Engineering

• Participants must be Non-native speakers

• examine techniques for structuring and developing paragraphs

To:

• Assist students with aspects of structure, vocabulary and cohesion of texts
• help develop the ability to edit own texts
• develop an understanding of academic style and techniques for scientific writing
