Postdocs: Lecturing: An Introduction (Sciences)
Description
This introductory workshop examines the processes of preparing and giving lectures. It will encourage you to consider what makes a good lecture and what lecturing is for.
*Please note that this course is not aimed at PhD students*

Aims
- to have an increased understanding of the process of preparation and presentation, including structuring and writing a lecture
- to understand how to gauge the appropriate level for a lecture
- to be familiar with support materials including handouts, overheads and PowerPoint, and how these can enhance a lecture
- to be aware of alternative strategies for effective lecturing
