Appraisals provide the opportunity for individuals and their managers (in professional, academic and research roles) to engage in constructive discussion about current and future work and their personal and career development. This session aims to build on current experience in order to clarify the overall purpose and outcomes of these discussions; consider how to manage potential concerns or challenges you may face in this area; consider the skills and techniques that may be used effectively when working on this with others, and useful reminders of good practice.
