This course is intended to build on the introductory EndNote course and give attenders practical experience of editing EndNote output styles.
EndNote output styles control the way EndNote sets out references and their citations in printed documents. By editing these, you can achieve precise control of the way your bibliography is set out.
An introduction to using the bibliography program EndNote to store references and notes and use them to achieve correct referencing in your documents without re-typing. This course covers both EndNote Desktop and the free, browser based, "lite" version, EndNote Online.
Using EndNote will enable you to keep a note of references as you research online so that you will always be able to document your sources correctly. It can save you time as you should never need to retype references and you can alter their layout with a couple of mouse-clicks.

This is a free recording of tips for effective systematic reviews using the EndNote reference management package selected for curation by UIS training staff.

The course is a train the trainer session including an introduction to EndNote 8, plus an opportunity to discuss supporting EndNote in a Research University environment, use of EndNote for Systematic Reviews and Q&A session.
This is a LinkedIn Learning course for those who wish to get started with Endnote and is provided by University of Cambridge's subscription to LinkedIn Learning.

Using a reference manager is one of the best ways to look after crucial research literature, whether planning for a literature review or simply keeping track of developments in a particular discipline. This session will introduce Endnote.
Using live demonstrations, discussions, and troubleshooting common referencing issues, the session will give an in-depth look at how Endnote (and tools like it) can help maximise a research project workflow while also ensuring that critical resources and information are not lost at any point in the research process.

Interested in using software to manage and organise your references, but not sure where to start? Or confused about the different software options available? Come along and hear about four different reference management software packages - Zotero, Mendeley, Endnote, and EasyBib - and make a more informed choice about which, if any, will suit you and your research best.
This session focuses on finding literature in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The session will help you build a list of literature for your research topic (sometimes referred to as secondary literature) by introducing key resources for finding materials, illustrating a range of techniques for searching, and discussing how to stay up to date with research in your field.
By the end of this session, you should be able to: • Plan a strategy for finding literature on your research topic. • Discover a range of resources available for your literature search. • Make the most of the resources available using a range of techniques and tools. • Stay up to date with research in your field. • Build a list of relevant literature related to your research topic.

Mendeley is a free, open source reference management program. It was originally primarily intended as a way to manage collections of PDF documents and this is still its main strength in comparison with other tools such as EndNote and Zotero.
Mendeley can be used to insert reference citations and a bibliography of cited references into Word and Open Office documents and may be of interest to anyone wanting a free reference management program which will create BibTeX citation keys and paste them into a LaTeX document.
This is a basic introductory course and probably will not be very useful to those who are already using the program and who have specific queries about the way it works.
