Tue 29	SPACE Network Event: Listening to Parents and Carers Finished 12:30 - 13:30 17 Mill Lane, Meeting Room A The University’s SPACE network (supporting staff who are parents and carers), is holding 3 open meetings for current and new members to gain feedback on SPACE activities, events, topics etc. We are also looking for new network committee members to represent parents, carers from a range of staff groups and University sites.
	Welcome to LGBT+ Cambridge: Out at Cambridge Finished 18:00 - 20:00 St Catharine's College, McGrath Centre Welcome to LGBT+ Cambridge: Out at Cambridge The LGBT+ Staff Network and lgbtQ+@cam invite you to the launch of 'Out at Cambridge’. Members of the lgbtQ+@cam team will present from their report describing LGBT+ staff and student experiences at Cambridge. Copies of the report will be available. Plus, find out what the University has to offer its LGBT+ staff and meet colleagues.

Thu 7	Athena SWAN Support Session Finished 11:00 - 12:30 Faculty of Law, G26 Supporting departments working towards Athena SWAN awards, this in-depth session will help with the different aspects of applying including data collection, analysis and action planning. E&D team members will help troubleshoot common problems and will share examples of best practice across the University.
Mon 11	WSN: Talking About Money and More Finished 12:30 - 13:30 University Information Services, Roger Needham Building, Huntingdon Room During the 'National Talk Money Week' (12-18 November) the University's Women's Staff Network is holding three events to present a simple toolkit and conversation guide about the financial moments that matter in women's lives. We will also seek feedback on WSN activities, events and topics.
Tue 12	Athena SWAN Smart Action Planning Finished 11:00 - 12:30 Faculty of English, GR06 This session will help departments develop appropriate actions for the issues identified from the self-assessment process and to make action plans SMART and effective tools for achieving gender equity.

Fri 22	Triggering Institutional Change: Update on the University's Work on Race and Racism POSTPONED 12:15 - 13:15 8 Mill Lane, Lecture Room 1 Come along to this event to find out about the approach and practical steps the University is taking to address racialised inequalities and the key priority areas to address. Learn about the University's Race Equality Action Plan, and the impact of implemented initiatives.
Fri 29	Race Awareness Training Finished 12:30 - 14:30 Kettle's Yard This will be an interactive workshop for those who would like to increase their understanding of race and racism. The aim of the session is not only to enhance participants' confidence in speaking about race but also to provide them with tools to reflect on their role in the circulation of racism, and to build their capacity to challenge racism. VENUE: Ede Room, Kettle's Yard - Castle Street

Tue 10	Menopause Café - Judge Business School CANCELLED 11:00 - 12:00 Judge Business School Menopause Cafés exist to increase awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it, their friends, colleagues, and families. Anybody interested in sharing stories, experiences, and questions about menopause is welcome! Will be held in the Judge Business School Café on the second floor.
Wed 11	Menopause Café - Alison Richard Building CANCELLED 11:00 - 12:00 Sidgwick Site, Alison Richard Building, Atrium Menopause Cafés exist to increase awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it, their friends, colleagues, and families. Anybody interested in sharing stories, experiences, and questions about menopause is welcome! Will be held in the Alison Richard Building Café on the ground floor just past Reception.

Mon 20	Athena SWAN: Smart Action Planning Finished 11:30 - 13:00 Sidgwick Site, Lecture Block Room 8 This session will help departments develop appropriate actions for the issues identified from the self-assessment process and to make action plans SMART and effective tools for achieving gender equity.
Thu 23	Athena SWAN: Attainment Gaps Finished 12:00 - 13:00 8 Mill Lane, Lecture Room 2 This session is for departments wishing to identify and address student gender and BAME attainment gaps. Gina Warren, E&D, and Dr Ruth Walker, Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning, will discuss how to approach this work, and will explore methodologies to investigate attainment gaps.
Tue 28	Trans Awareness Training Finished 12:00 - 13:00 Fitzwilliam Museum, Seminar Room This session will set the wider context for Trans identities, provide greater understanding of the experience of Trans people and explore uses of language and key terms such as cisgender, non-binary and transgender, all in a safe supportive environment.
Thu 30	Caring4Elders Workshops (1 of 3) Finished 12:15 - 13:15 Greenwich House, Cairo Room An Elderly Person in your life! An opportunity for individuals to explore positive approaches to preparing for and responding to the unexpected changes & challenges that occur as they include the increasing needs of an elderly person into your lifestyle. This includes those elderly people who are independent as well as those with specific needs. Workshops to help you prepare participants for the future and respond to current challenges through informal networking and input from our experienced facilitators. The materials are delivered over 3 x 1-hour sessions: Prepared to Care Difficult Conversations Problem Solving All participants receive a pack with key information to improve their links to the elderly person. Focus on you and your wellbeing Caring4Elders participants confirm the value of time to reflect on their approach to incorporating the practical and emotional changes that occur as an elderly person becomes less independent. Participants have all asked for more time to continue the network at the end of the workshops which have been offered in the East of England since 2017 12:00 Venue open 12:15 Workshop commences 13:15 Workshop finish 13:15 - 14:00 Time for informal questions and discussion PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND ALL THREE SESSIONS

Fri 7	University Diversity Fund Finished 12:30 - 13:30 Faculty of Law, LG18 Join us to learn about the first projects funded through the new University Diversity Fund. Hosted by Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eilís Ferran, the event will showcase the projects that received funding to a wider University audience. Followed by a networking lunch starting at 1.30pm

Tue 18	Conversations on Career Progression and Race Finished 12:00 - 12:45 University Library Janet Ramdeo (Senior Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Education ) and Hawa Sydique (Research and Communications Manager - UCCRI) will talk about their career experience and trajectory in Higher Education and beyond, the challenges faced and strategies of dealing with them. It will be an opportunity to discuss ideas that might help others in the same situation, and talk about ways of addressing institutional obstacles. Venue: Milstein Room, University Library
Tue 25	Race Awareness Training Finished 10:00 - 12:00 University Information Services, Roger Needham Building, Norwich Auditorium This will be an interactive workshop for those who would like to increase their understanding of race and racism. The aim of the session is not only to enhance participants’ confidence in speaking about race but also to provide them with tools to reflect on their role in the circulation of racism, and to build their capacity to challenge racism.

Tue 3	It’s Who You Know, Not What You Know: Inclusive Networking And Sponsorship Finished 12:15 - 13:30 Faculty of English, GR06 Join Dr Jill Armstrong, Murray Edwards College, for this research-based workshop on how unintentional bias influences networking and career sponsorship and how to tackle this.
Thu 5	Helping Departments to Implement Initiatives Tackling Racism Finished 12:00 - 13:00 8 Mill Lane, Lecture Room 2 The University’s work on race and racism has been acknowledged with the Advance HE’s Race Equality Charter (REC) Bronze award. As part of the institutional work, we developed a three-year REC action plan to tackle racial inequalities. The event will help departments make sense of the REC action plan, and to develop their own initiatives aligned with the institutional approach.
