A thirty minute introduction to the UL, aimed at those using our facilities and collections over the summer vacation period. An experienced member of staff will meet you in the Entrance Hall then lead you on a twenty minute tour of the UL,taking in the Locker Room, Open Bookstacks, Reading Room and West Room. Ten minutes are reserved after the tour for a question and answer session.
Everyone, particularly new users of Cambridge University Library including visiting scholars and vacation users
- Library Introduction
The tour will cover the following
- Explanation of what can be brought into the UL and what must be left in a locker
- How to enter the UL
- Explanation of IT/Photocopying fascilities
- Brief demonstration of how to find resources on our catalogues and where to locate them in the building
- A brief visit to the Reading Room and West Room
- How to exit the UL
- Question and Answer session
Tour with time for questions and answers
Please wait in the UL Entrance Hall for the tour to begin.
- You must have a valid library card to enter the UL.
