Outlook 365: Essentials - Email and Calendar Getting Started and Tips (Live Online using MS Teams)

Description

Join us in this friendly, introductory session to learn how to get up and running with Outlook 365 Email and Calendar using the Desktop application for Windows, where we will take you through the basics of the Outlook 365 and more. If you are already familiar with the basics, this course will provide you with tips to speed things up and also get to know what is possible in Outlook.

Please note that the course is taught using Microsoft Teams and you must have Teams installed on your computer to participate. See System requirements below for more information

Target audience
  • New or existing Outlook 365 users who have have either recently migrated to Exchange online or would like to find out recommeded ways of using the app
  • All current Cambridge University members (departments and colleges)

Prerequisites
  • Basic computer skills i.e. familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse will be assumed.
  • The course is aimed at beginners - no previous knowledge or experience of the software is assumed, however those who wish to improve their skills will learn some tips

Objectives
  • The objective of this course is to provide you with a introductory understanding of what the Microsoft Outlook 365 Desktop app can do and how to use it.
Aims
  • Once you have completed this course you will in a position to use the Microsoft Outlook 365 Desktop app in your workplace with confidence.

  • Presentation, demonstration and practical activities
System requirements
  • Installed Microsoft Teams app.
  • It is possible to join using Edge or Chrome but there is less functionality when using a browser.
  • Important: The instructor cannot troubleshoot access to Microsoft Teams on the day of the course. If you are in an institution that is managing their own Teams tenancy (CAMENT, JBS, medschl and some of the colleges) then you may not have access to the files or calendar used in the course. Please contact the instructor in advance to discuss this.
  • It's advisable to make a test call in advance of the session.
  • Your computer set up may be different to others on the course and there are small variations when using different operating systems. It is helpful to keep the instructor informed of the system that you are using.
Notes
  • The course will be taught using Outlook 365 on PCs but will also be suitable for Outlook 2016/2019 users. Apple Mac users of Outlook should also find it useful.
