Cancellation and Non-attendance

We ask that participants do not book on training courses unless they are sure they can attend.

Places are at a premium and reserving places by booking and then cancelling will penalise other participants on over-subscribed events and incur a cost to the Department. However, we understand that in some instances cancellation may be unavoidable for legitimate reasons.

How to cancel your booking

If you need to cancel your place, please do so as soon as possible.

  • Choose Your Bookings
  • Choose the relevant booking
  • Select Cancel booking
  • Select a reason for cancellation
  • Choose Cancel Booking

Repeat and late cancellers

If you are found to be cancelling repeatedly or making a number of late cancellations, you may be penalised. If the course is necessary for you to work safely in the department, it is mandatory and access is likely to be revoked (or not granted in the first place).

Non-attendance of courses

We ask that participants do not book on courses unless they are sure they can attend. Places are sometimes very limited and reserving places by booking and then not attending will penalise other participants on over-subscribed events and incur a cost to the Department. However, we understand that in some instances non-attendance may be unavoidable for legitimate reasons. If a course is considered necessary to ensure you can work safely in the department (often this means your access privileges will depend on it), then you must ensure you book on to the next available session to ensure you have access to the department.

Repeat non-attendees

If you are found to be repeatedly not attending mandatory courses without prior notification, you may be penalised. We may levy a charge to your research group and your access to the department is likely to be revoked.
