Strategic Development Programme


Description


The SDP programme will offer a blend of theory and practical learning sessions, interwoven with the strategy and governance context of the University. This will be delivered over several sessions and put in to practice with a strategic work project.

  • You need to meet the selection criteria and complete an application form for the programme.
  • Applications will require approval by your line manager and will then be reviewed and prioritised by School Secretary, Head of Division and Head of Institution, Registrary as appropriate.
  • Applications typically open in May each year.
Target audience
  • University staff in a senior Professional Services role.
  • Grade 8 to 10 (there may be some flexibility on a case-by-case basis).
  • Have passed probation.
  • Administer a wide portfolio, managing staff, budget and resources and are actively involved in managing with strategic influence.
  • Undertaking the programme for own development and for the benefit of the division or department or institution.
  • Have agreement from department or division to engage with the programme.
  • Can commit to attend all dates and undertake all additional activities, including pre, during and post-course work.
  • This includes completing an individual strategic project, that comprises a new piece of strategic work in an area you have the ability to take the lead on, compilation of a project report and delivery of a short project presentation.
