Description

This page is for those who wish to register that they will submit an abstract for the School of Clinical Medicine Research Day. If you only want to register as an observer at the event, please book on School of Clinical Medicine Research Day: observer attendance registration.

This event is the Clinical School's showcase event for postgraduate researchers to network and share their research. Participants will be selected from the submitted abstracts and invited to either present a poster or oral presentation and receive feedback from judges.

Work can be in the style:

  • you might use for a formal scientific meeting, but accessible to a general scientific audience or
  • used in the popular press (from tabloid to a broadsheet supplement) but aimed at the general public

Target audience
  • Postgraduates in School of Clinical Medicine
  • Further details regarding Graduate School of Life Sciences' eligibility criteria are available
Prerequisites
  • Anyone who wants to enter the competition must submit an abstract by the deadline stated on the competition website. All participants must be members of the School of Clinical Medicine.

Aims

This is an opportunity for postgraduate students in Clinical Medicine to

  • Present their research to a peer group as a lecture or scientific poster and receive feedback
  • Network and discuss their work with others
  • Develop and present their ideas for a high-impact scientific news item
