SPSS: Beyond the Basics Prerequisites
Description
This session follows on from SPSS: Basic Parts 1 and 2 and continues to introduce useful techniques for data analysis with SPSS. Working with sensitive data types will be covered and a basic introduction to SPSS command language.

Prerequisites
The course assumes prior attendance of SPSS: Introduction for Beginners course, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

- Handling 'difficult' data
- Working with dates and times
- Recoding and transforming data
- Multiple response data
- Introduction to SPSS Syntax language
- Data restructuring and management
Format
Presentations, demonstrations and practicals.
Taught using
SPSS v. 22 on MCS Windows
Notes
- No attempt is made to teach statistical techniques, though simple examples are used to show the principles of SPSS use.
- Practicals will be run on PCs using SPSS for Windows.
