Being an Effective Departmental Safety Officer
If you are a newly appointed Departmental Safety Officer, you should attend this course within three months of appointment where possible. Space permitting, we also welcome current DSOs and others with a health and safety role.

- The principles of effective safety management in the University environment
- Proactive and reactive safety monitoring techniques, such as inspections, risk assessment and accident investigation

Refreshments and lunch are provided.
- College staff are charged £63 per participant, see charging for further information. Payment is required before an event. An invoice will be raised when a provisional booking is made.
- Departments will incur a charge for bookings cancelled less than 8 days before an event.
