ESRC DTP: Translating Research into Visual Concepts New
This workshop will be led by Dr Steven Wooding, Lead for Research and Analysis at the Centre for Science and Policy.
Pictures, diagrams and charts are a valuable way to communicate - but they're not easy. Steve will talk about how to use diagrams to illustrate concepts and ideas, as well as how to design effective graphs and charts. Along the way he will share his experience of producing visualisations for policy makers and researchers. There will also be an opportunity to have a go yourselves - so bring an idea that you'd like to illustrate or some data you'd like to visualise* along with a notebook and a pencil (or ideally, coloured pencils) to practice getting beyond words.
- if you're early in your research and don't have data or concepts to illustrate, bring your CV, and take a shot at making that graphical.
