Human right are enshrined in constitutions and form key pillars of every democratic society. But no right is absolute. What happens to these rights if the protection of democracy is at stake? And what happens when these fundamental rights come into conflict with each other?

Short films show up-to-date examples from around the world of how human rights can come into conflict with each other or with the democratic rule of law. At the end of each film a question is asked that the audience can vote on.

Welsh rugby international Gareth speaks from the heart about his life experiences, the influences of sport and rugby, and how they have helped him during desperate times. He will also talk about how his life has changed for the better since he came out. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

The Uninvited is a performance ‘tour de force’ telling the extraordinary stories of refugees and exiles, from all over the world, past and present. Poems, writings and testimonies flow into songs sung both in their original language and in English translation, interwoven with Articles from the Declaration of Human Rights.
