Carers at Cambridge
![]() You are invited to join an upcoming focus group on the experience of those with caring responsibilities at Cambridge. We want to understand more about people’s lived experiences of their working environment and work culture, and how those are affected by their caring roles, gender (and other protected characteristics). The discussions are inclusive and open to individuals of all genders. The data from this focus group will complement other data being gathered – for example by the Staff Culture Survey circulated earlier this year – as part of the University’s application to renew its Silver Athena Swan Charter. This talk is online via Zoom. The joining link will be provided on your booking confirmation email. |

We would like to invite you to participate in an exciting collaborative research study titled “Cross-Cultural Exploration of Gender and Parenthood Perceptions and Practices in Higher Education: A Brazil-UK Comparative Study,” led by Dr. Charikleia Tzanakou from Oxford Brookes University. The study aims to understand how parenthood is conceptualized and practiced in UK higher education institutions, including the University of Cambridge, and your input would be invaluable. This focus group is designed to explore parenthood policies and practices, with the aim of developing a database of good practices to inspire other institutions. Your participation will help shape our understanding of parenthood policies in higher education, and the University will gain a greater understanding of what we can do to support our staff parents. This is an online session via zoom. Joining details will be available on your booking confirmation email. |
