IN PERSON - Tableau Server - Viewer

This is an in person classroom course held at Greenwich House - All delegates will need to bring a laptop (docking stations, monitors, external keyboard and mice will be available in the room)

Please note - there is no parking available at Greenwich House. The Madingley Park and Ride is a 15-minute walk and the Universal Bus stops on Madingley Road.

From April 2024, all staff will have viewer access to Tableau Server, there will be no need to request access.

This course will be relevant for any staff new to using Tableau Server: Viewer.

This course does not cover the Explorer role which is required for creating your own dashboards. If this is of interest, you might like to book a drop-in session with one of the Tableau experts.

Number of sessions: 1

By the end of the session, participants will:

• Understand what Tableau is
• How Tableau can be useful for collaboration, data sharing, reporting and decision making
• Understand the data protection guidelines for use of the data on Tableau Server
• Understand the different roles within Tableau Server
• Be able to log into Tableau Server
• Be able to navigate around Tableau Server
• Be able to find and view view projects and workbooks
• Know where to find additional support
• Be aware of additional functionality with the Explorer role

This is an introduction to the use of Tableau Server for viewing data. During the session there will be opportunity to practice finding and viewing a dashboard to view and interpret a dataset.

The session will not cover explorer access, which is required to create or edit dashboards. Further training sessions and materials will be developed to cover this role.
