Microsoft IT Academy: Course 10295: Beginner Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 Online
This two-hour online course is designed to help you use the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 interface, commands, and features to create, enhance, and deliver presentations.

Home and Office users taking this course must have the basic skills of using Microsoft Windows. This includes basic tasks such as opening, editing, and saving a file. Learners should complete Course 4697: Introduction to the New Microsoft® Office Fluent™ User Interface.

- Manage the PowerPoint Environment
- Use Presentation Views
- Work with the PowerPoint Windows
- Create and Save Presentations
- Work with Text Boxes
- Work with WordArt
- Insert and Format a Table
- Work with Custom Animation
- Insert and Modify a Picture, Shape, SmartArt Graphic, and Chart
- Add Video Clips, Images, and Illustrations
- Send a Slide Show for Review
- Work with Comments
- Prepare a Slide Show for Delivery
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Describe how to work with and manage the PowerPoint 2010 environment.
- Explain how to create a basic PowerPoint 2010 presentation by adding text boxes and tables.
- Explain how to insert and format images and illustrations in a presentation.
- Describe how to finalize and deliver a presentation.
Self-taught online
To view this course, you need:
- A Pentium II, 256 MB RAM with a processor speed greater than or equal to 400 MHZ
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or higher
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- Macromedia Flash 7.0 or higher (1MB disk space needed to install)
- Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher
- Microsoft XML Core Services 3.0 or higher
- A Super VGA monitor with minimum screen resolution 1024x768, with 16-bit color.
- A sound card, and either speakers or headphones (for multi-media audio).
- Internet bandwidth of 56K or faster. Broadband internet access is recommended.
- For courses containing Virtual Server-based labs (courses in the IT Professional and Developer Catalog), you will need:
- Microsoft Virtual Server ActiveX control (1MB disk space needed to install)
- The following software must be running on your computer in order to access this course with Screen Reader Software:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
- Window-Eyes from GW Micro
- JAWS from Freedom Scientific
- MSAA enabled
