This session will provide staff with an overview of the Disclosure and Barring Service and how to request criminal record checks for eligible roles within the University.
Target audience
- Departmental Administrators and any other University staff dealing with recruitment

Aims
- to promote a better understanding of DBS checks, including the types of checks and when they are required
- to provide guidance on how to assess eligibility of roles for DBS checks
- to provide guidance on the required recruitment practices when requesting DBS checks
- to give practical guidance to staff on completing DBS forms correctly
