Coach yourself through procrastination Prerequisites
This workshop will cover key themes relating to procrastination. Participants are encouraged to reflect and share experiences with others and take part in discussion groups and activities. The session covers the common causes of procrastination, how to recognise personal procrastination traits and techniques to dig deep to find the real cause of procrastination in order to banish it for good.
Tea, coffee, water, & biscuits will be provided.
This training is provided free of charge to postgraduate researchers, however, the cost of providing the course is £30 per participant.

This workshop is run by an external trainer and places are limited. If you are unable to attend please ensure you cancel your place, or contact us at researcher.development@admin.cam.ac.uk, at least 24hrs in advance so we can allocate your place to another student.

Utilising coaching techniques participants will:
- Identify their personal tendencies towards procrastination
- Understand the why of procrastination
- Create an action plan to overcome procrastination in the future
- Be able to support their peers looking for help overcoming procrastination
To help participants understand the causes of procrastination, identify their own procrastination patterns, and explore practical strategies to address the underlying causes, using reflection, discussion, and interactive activities.
In person session with some group activities and participation.
About the Trainer
Katy is a professional development consultant with a PhD in Human Geography from Coventry University. She specialises in researcher coaching and mentoring, holding qualifications such as a Corporate and Executive Coaching Diploma.
Katy is leading the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) Refresh project, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of today’s researchers. She also provides accredited coaching services to support academic and professional growth in universities and research institutes worldwide. Katy is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and actively contributes to the development of researchers at all stages of their careers.
