CV Writing and Job Applications
Description
This interactive session supports career progression by helping participants craft effective CVs and job applications tailored to roles within and beyond the University and complements the Interview Skills session.
Target audience
- Assistant and academic-related staff
- Research staff/postdoctoral research staff are advised to refer to the University Careers Service for information on specific Careers Programmes
- Further details regarding our eligibility criteria
Prerequisites
- Please bring a copy of your CV to the session, where there will be opportunities to discuss and work on updates.
Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- create a clear, concise, and adaptable CV
- interpret job adverts and person specifications
- write compelling suitability statements or cover letters
- highlight key achievements using structured techniques
- leverage networks and online platforms to boost career visibility
