Description

An introduction to adding holding and item records to existing catalogue records as part of record-sharing in the Alma database. There is an opportunity for hands-on participation. Target audience

For those who are not trained cataloguers who need to add their library’s holdings to existing catalogue records as part of their daily activity, or those who will need to do so in the near future.

Prerequisites

Attendees must have a basic familiarity with MARC21 for holding records and be able to use the Alma metadata editor.

Aims

To explain the record-sharing guidelines for the shared Alma database and to practise the relevant processes in Alma.

PowerPoint presentation with hands-on exercises.
