This programme is designed to support academic, research and professional service leaders and managers with the skills and insights they need to lead others effectively. It will enable participants to reflect on their current leadership style and provide techniques they can use to effectively manage a diverse range of perspectives and create an inclusive culture across the University. Those with responsibility for others have a key role to play in shaping a positive working environment, supporting progression and ensuring equality, including pay equality. Given the University's strategic priorities, it is critical that leaders and managers understand the impact of their decisions throughout the employment timeline and know how to reduce the risk of sex, race or other discrimination, whether explicit or implicit. The programme is delivered in partnership with Pearn Kandola, experts in evidence-based inclusive leadership development. |

Come along to this short session to find out why this happens and what it means to be an active bystander. This includes simple changes and actions you can take to support others around you without confrontation and, over time, support a more inclusive environment for all of us to live and work in. |

During this lockdown period, PPD is keen to continue to promote development opportunities for University staff. This information webinar will help you to identify if you wish to progress your development by way of an Apprenticeship. We are looking to explore what interest there is at this current time in this Senior Leader Degree Level 7 apprenticeship to start September 2020. Please note: This apprenticeship standard is expected to change with the removal of the degree qualification in January 2021, moving towards a PostGrad diploma. Entry to these cohorts will be by application and is open to all University employees who meet the eligibility criteria. The webinar will be repeated and to assist with accessibility the webinars are being held on two video conferencing platforms, Zoom and MS Teams. To access the webinar on MS Teams the session will run on 23rd June 2020 - 14:00-15:00pm. A link to the webinar will be sent with the joining instructions when your booking is confirmed. |

By establishing University-wide cohorts, we are looking to encourage more departments to use apprenticeships as a way to provide focused professional development for staff. Participants will have the advantage of a peer group to work through the programme with. Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment are also potentially interested in joining in with this. The webinar will be presented by Jennifer Dix of Corndel, who will deliver these apprenticeships. For this cohort to run, there is a minimum of 18-20 people required. Depending on the level of interest shown, it is intended that the apprenticeship will start as soon as possible. Entry to these cohorts will be by application and is open to all University employees who meet the eligibility criteria. MBTI: Understanding Personality

It presents a framework for understanding how you operate, how others operate, and how you can use that understanding to get more from yourself and the relationships you have with others. This workshop is led by a qualified MBTI practitioner and will involve taking the MBTI questionnaire, investigating the four areas of preference covered by MBTI, self-assessment of type with group exercises, looking at your best fit type and investigating how it could help you at work. Learning about your personality type can help you to understand your role within your team and the role of others. It can also help you to cope with organisational change, deal with stress effectively and develop your emotional intelligence. |
