Description

This self-paced online course provides an introduction to principles of responsible research and innovation. Responsible research and innovation (RRI) is an approach that anticipates and assesses potential implications and societal expectations with regard to research and innovation. It includes, but goes beyond, considerations of ethics, public engagement, risk and regulation.

Target audience

This course has been designed primarily for postgraduate research students and early career research in STEM fields. It is open to all research staff and students.

  1. Understand the principles of Responsible Research and Innovation
  2. Identify the need for RRI with respect to new research & technology
  3. Reflect on the role and responsibilities of researchers within society
  4. Understand and apply the RRI framework to assess potential implications of a research project
