Data Champions Forum May 2022 new Finished 12:00 - 14:00 Cambridge University Library, Milstein Room

This will be the first Data Champions forum to be held in person since December 2019; please do join us if you can. The theme is Licences in Open Research.

The forum will consist of programme updates, and lightning talks and discussions on this topic. We will also kick off brainstorming sessions for this year’s collaboration effort with Cambridge University Press and Assessment.

A vegetarian lunch will be provided. Please ensure you let us know of any dietary needs or intolerances by using the ‘Special requirements’ link in the invitation email.

The theme is Sustainability in Open Data. “Sustainability” here includes availability of resources, longevity and functionality, as well as environmental impact of Open Data, for example storage of large datasets. The forum will consist of programme updates, and lightning talks and discussions on this topic.

Data Champions Forum September 2022 new Finished 12:00 - 14:00 Faculty of Law, B16

This will be our third hybrid forum; please do join us if you can. The theme is RDM and Big Data. The forum will consist of programme updates, lightning talks and discussions on this topic, and chances to network with other Data Champions over lunch. The session after lunch will comprise the first in our Data Champion Training series. We will begin with 'Introduction to RDM, part I'. This training session (as well as part II in November) is aimed at Data Champions across disciplines and positions; aiming to give a solid up to date foundation understanding of RDM at Cambridge, and an idea of what you might talk about if you decide to do training sessons for your colleagues. Training will be presented by Dr Bea Gini, Training Coordinator in the Office of Scholarly Communication.

The venue for this forum is the Faculty of Law Room B16 Sidgwick site. A vegetarian lunch will be provided. Please ensure you let us know of any dietary needs or intolerances by using the ‘Special requirements’ link in the invitation email.
